Very neatly done and with simple selection and operation.
I bet you'll be making up stuff where there is lots of thread cutting now. Enjoy!

Ohhh yeah... not having to plan operations like turning job down ready for threading on all components is a real game changer.

I did quite a bit of searching for John Bran's project but no joy. Any suggestions on how to find about his conversion and code?

Yes, wrong spelling! I had captions turned on and they spelled it "Bran". Many thanks Stevo for getting back so fast!
    All the best.

    Stevohdee,

You did not mention what DOC you used when threading. When I did my electronic lathe I wanted to adjust the DOC of each pass so that the same amount of metal was removed on each pass. You may be interested in the simple calculation for this which is shown in post 8 in this posting:
Ball screw and electronic lathe conversion . The calculation was done for 60 deg threads but it is obvious what to change for other thread angles. The calculation is accurate when the DOC is relatively small compared to the workpiece diameter. For most practical purposes it is fine. I did not want to complicate things by taking into account the part diameter.

On another subject. After I watched your video on the lathe I saw the one on DIY marking fluid. I have done something similar using meths and shellac but with red food colouring. It works well and dries in a couple of minutes. The colouring does settle out over time but it only needs a shake to mix it ready for use. I did try wood stain that I had on the shelf but it was not alky based and it was a failure. I will see what I can find in the hardware store and if successful I'll try following your example.
