    Sensitive Drilling Platform with plans

Marv Klotz (mklotz) has an excellent article about drilling with tiny drill bits.
I use these small bits on occasion but not all that often. Tiny Carbide drills are quite brittle and I have been known to break a few!
Here is Marv's Posting: Sensitive drilling platform

After reading Marv's article I wanted to build one for myself and that is what this posting is about.
Complete prints are included for my version of Marv's excellent Sensitive Drilling Table.
The completed drilling table has a throw of about .750" which should be more than enough for most
sensitive drilling. I included a table anti rotation pin and that is the main difference between
my table and Marv's. I did not use ball bearings on the pushrod either. Thanks for the Idea Marv.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Thanks for the kind words. I'm very pleased that you liked the design enough to build one for yourself.

BTW, you'll be happy to know that a table anti-rotation mechanism for my version is nearing the top of the project list. I encourage future builders to include one in their copies of the design.

Thanks Marv, I find a lot of my tool build ideas from the many posters on HMT.
This is a great place to find machining information.
    Cheers, JR

What about adding a depth scale? Perhaps on the circumference of the excentric? The difference between circumference and sinus would not matter. I would make the scale adjustable.
