DESCRIPTION:
Homemade Acme threading tool intended to facilitate the process of threading cross feed nuts with 1/2-10 left-hand Acme thread. Ground from a 3/8 HSS tool bit.

for a bronze nut, hardened steel rod, turned and filed or ground to D bit form, mounted in a cylindrical holder, may be swivelled to the correct helix angle also, by using same diameter rod of 6 to 8 inch length temporarily held in the tool hole, the cutter may be set at a 'true' 90 degrees to the axis. Stone or diamond file the tool to razor sharp.I think that cast iron nuts are O.K. IF they are oiled to prevent rusting.No cutting fluid on bronze or cast iron.
