Thanks for sharing with us Jack. This is more or less how I plan to make a taper attachment for my Myford ML7. I have a shaft out of a McPherson strut that I am using for my rod. Beautifully chromed and ground, and used ones should be easy enough to obtain. I am toying with the idea of using nylon for the slide.
