I had an interesting conversation with a water scientist about these units, and he pointed out that they have a high risk factor when used for drinking water due to water born encephalitis breeding in the temperature range these units operate at. To be safe they must be disinfected at least weekly. This is why govt water plants use reverse osmosis to extract drinking water from underground saline reserves in outback and arid areas - it is totally safe.
