If memory serves, HD version is a pair of plates separated by a tubing spacer, and clamps with nut & bolt. It would distribute force over additional teeth, an attribute. With the case open, form one plate to fit between crank and clutch sprocket teeth maybe an inch above their common centerline, and a copy. Mark and drill through both in the apparent middle. Place both in 'operating position' and measure between them for the spacer that prevents over tightening. A single 3/8 Gr5 fastener should be fine.

Someone else who didn't want to give $49.95 to HD. I made a similar one using two pieces of strap steel and a threaded rod. It worked like a charm and is still in the tool box.
